Beaches and coves in Llanca
For a relaxed day you can choose one of the many beaches and coves that exist in Llanca and its neighbouring towns. Right at the town's sea port you can find Platja El Port, where apart from sunbathing you might take a look at the local shops and restaurants. Platja Grifeu offers its guests a decent range of facilities and is therefore considered one of the most liveliest beaches of Llanca. For a more isolated location you can visit Cala Bramant, which is two kilometres north from the town’s centre - it is easily accessible on foot and by car and is ideal for scuba diving and exploring the marine environment. Surrounded by rocky walls, it is a perfect place to enjoy a day out in the fresh air in peace and quiet.
What to do in Llanca?
If you are an art lover, then you should definitely consider booking a ticket to the Watercolour museum of Llanca. It is a public collection of watercolors created in 1989 and its mission is to promote and protect the art of watercolor painting. Not far away from Llanca, in Girona province, you can find different places associated with the famous surrealist painter - Salvador Dali. In Cadaques - Dali’s workshop, in Figueres - Dali’s museum, in Pubol - Gala Dali Castle House.
St. Pere de Rodes Monastery is a beautiful monastery located in the Serra de Rodes mountains, above the bays of Llanca and Port de la Selva. It is located just a half an hour away from town’s centre if you take a car, so it is definitely worth a visit. When you take a walk around Llanca’s harbour, don’t forget to look at the Islote del Castellar - one of the town’s characteristic’s features, which appears in many photos.
Activities for all interests and ages
For an active leisure there are various hiking trails in and around Llanca. Camí de ronda Llançà-Port de la Selva is a route with a picturesque sea view. If you fancy a longer walk then you can choose Sant Pere de Rodes – Far de s'Aranella Loop. This route offers magnificent views combined with various architectural sites such as Sant Pere de Roses and Far de s'Aranella lighthouse.
In Port de Selva there is Adosveles Wind water sports that offers windsurfing activities, paddle surfing and many more. For a more unusual activity you can visit Club de Tir El Moli - a shooting range that has different events and classes regularly.
Enjoy local mediterranean cuisine
Being a truly Catalan town, Llanca has many traditional restaurants with delicious authentic meals. Miralles Restaurant is located close to the national park and you can enjoy the views sitting at the restaurant's terrace. Restaurant l’Atelier is known for its excellent guest service and food quality. It serves French and Mediterranean cuisine.
In the town’s harbour there is a place to choose, when you have a special occasion. Miramar is a luxurious Michelin star restaurant created by chef Paco Pérez. There is an option of a tasting menu and a traditional a la carte. Book in advance if you want to have a table with a harbour view.
A destination for the whole family to enjoy
Take your family on the kayaking tour with SK Kayak. They organize a family kayaking tour to the caves where you will discover spectacular panoramic views of the wildest parts of the Costa Brava, from the point of Cap de Creus to Cap de Cervera. You can also plan a trip to Aqua Brava Aqua park, which is only 16 minutes away from Llanca by car. Moreover there is a Butterfly Park in Empuriabrava 2000 square meters in size, with a diverse range of animal rainforest species.
