Beaches and coves in Roses
Spending an afternoon at one of the Roses’ beaches - is definitely one of the best options for your vacation. Canyelles Petites is located just 4 km from the center of Roses and is one of the few urbanized coves, so it’s a great spot to visit with your friends. Montjoi creek is a paradise for families and those who want to do activities such as boat trips, kayaking and diving. All this is within the Cap de Creus Natural Park. At the end of the Gulf of Roses there is Almadrava Beach, which is more tranquil and scenic, surrounded by mountains and forests. It is the largest beach on this list with approximately 450 meters and perhaps one of the most spectacular.
La Pelosa beach is easily accessible, with a normally average occupancy and with coarse sand and pebbles. Pelosa is a beautiful cove that is sheltered from the Tramuntana, like all of Cap de Creus. Cala Pelosa also has a very nice restaurant that specializes in Paella and Fedua, definitely book in advance if you plan to try it.

The huge fortress of Roses, known as La Ciudadela, is one of the most visited monuments on the Costa Brava. It is located in a strategic place for trading where there are still traces of the Greek, Roman and Visigothic settlements.
If you want to dive deeper into the history, you can book a guided tour around Sant Pere De Rodes, which is a beautiful monastery located in the Serra de Rodes mountains, above the bays of Llanca and Port de la Selva.
One of the most enjoyable things to do in Roses is undoubtedly a walk along the promenade. The fish port and marina, restaurants and art installations complete the already magnificent seascape. Here, the beauty of nature is combined with the relaxed atmosphere of a seaside town. Puig Rom viewing area is a perfect place to enjoy a scenic view of Roses town. We especially recommend going there during the sunset.
